Timbermaster Winch - Dalcataig, Genmoriston 1984

The winch is extracting mature Douglas fir at Dalcataig, Glenmoriston where average tree was in excess of 0.5 cu m. Trees were extracted whole, tip first at a range of up to 350 meters, using a Smith's locking carriage, with secondary extraction by skidder along road. The winch was operated by Hugh Greig.
