Unknown driver working on Forest Road - 1950s
Photograph courtesy of Duncan Jamieson’s family, Insch.
This photograph could possibly have been taken in the 1950s around Bennachie or even over in Fetteresso Forests but perhaps even further afield. Note the man in the back ground working with what looks like a rake.
The machine registration number is not in the normal FC sequence and could easily be on hire.
Can anyone name the driver?
Can anyone identify the tractor/dozer machine?

I am fairly certain that this is a Caterpillar D4 dozer. Two features point that way - a) Fuel tank location and b) Angled back shape of the operators seat

This is Duncan Jamieson driving a Caterpillar narrow gauge D4. It is equipped with a La Plant - Choate hydraulic angle blade. The give - aways are: the radiator distinctive Caterpillar filling cap and the Caterpillar logo cast into the radiator top tank, largely hidden by the number plate, but the capital "C" immediately above the "G" of the number plate, and also the "two Ls" further along above the "7" can be seen.
