Duncan Jamieson on Fowler tractor circa 1958
Photograph courtesy of Duncan Jamieson’s family, Insch.
It is thought that this photograph was taken in Fetteresso or Drumtochty Forest areas around 1958 when Duncan was ploughing there along with Jock Brodie. Jock Brodie’s collection of photographs contained images of a Fowler tractor ploughing outfit.
In this image Duncan is obviously taking the machine up and over a short steep slope and the large engine flywheel can be easily seen on the far side of the track. The flywheel was renowned for picking up water and mud and creating a spray which soaked the driver. The FC number is partially visible and contains the letter ‘S’ for Scotland and the numbers 827 but hard to identify.
