Trials of Cetripetal Plough at Parkgate
Forestry Commission copyright image of Forest Research photographs courtesy of Glenn Brearley, Roslin Nil Ref No
Photographs taken in 1978 of a trial version of a self propelled disc fixed to a plough frame with the aim of pushing back the turf into the furrow. The aim may have been to try and increase rooting stability by reducing the platform effect and have roots cross unimpeded the channels created by ploughing.
Can anyone identify the man – Murray Clark?

The man in the photo is indeed Murray Clark, the photo was taken at Parkgate in the workshop field which was ploughed up on a regular basis for plough testing. My father kept a large H been for dragging around the field to level it off for future plough testing.
