A Bogmaster County and a Track Marshall 55 working in tandem pulling a Humpy Draining plough across some single furrow peat ploughing. Note that the plough has double wheels on each side which became the standard.
If ground conditions were quite firm the two tractors, joined by a winch rope on brake, could pull the draining plough fairly readily but in softer or uphill conditions the lead tractor often had to run ahead to a firm spot and then use the winch to haul the other tractor and plough towards him.
There is some confusion on the details of this location but the photograph taken by Jim Atterson in 1967 has a note with the name Eddleston. Can anyone confirm?
