Field testing prototype Huntly Herbicide Applicato

Date Added: 04 July 2007 Contributor: Norman Davidson Year of Photo: 1975 Picture No: 223

Photograph courtesy of family of Davy Anderson, former Chief Forester. Some of the Bin and Clashindarroch team trying out the prototype Huntly Herbicide Applicator at Ardonald in 1975. Identified team members left to right: 1.Johnny White 2.Jimmy Christie 3.Roy Neish(at back) 4.Jimmy Strachan (With wool hat) 5.Ted Skeard 6.Kenny Stephen
Most of the team are wearing the MacBean breathable waterproof suits which were on general issue to staff at that time. Some wisely have the leg of the waterproof trousers outside the boot particularly on the applicator side to prevent herbicide dropping in and collecting inside the boot.
The Bin and the Clashindarroch squads had been amalgamated about two years previously.
