Tine plough and tine ploughing heather and bracken knolls in Glentrool Forest (Glentrool Valley near Stroan Bridge, Caldons Road) for P55 planting. The tractor is a Fowler registration number JXK103 and FC No 0302 which has appeared in previous images.
Not the best of ploughing this being very broken and would cause problems for the planters to walk along and in finding a good tree planting position. Hard dry knolls were always difficult to plough as the turf could be hard and brittle and prone to breaking up but the absence of a coulter mat have contributed to the problem. Note the plough number 1291 and the presence of a safety banksman.
Can anyone name the people?
