Felling Scots large Scots pine

Photograph taken by Don MacCaskill and image courtesy of Bridget MacCaskill, Strathyre. Don was based as Head Forester at Inverinan from about 1960 through to about 1968 before transferring initially to Allean Forest and then Strathyre Forest in 1972.
Follow on from No 1930 and could be circa 1970.

An excellent action image of a chain saw operator cutting his way through a large and very old Scots pine. The saw looks a bit like a Jonsered but perhaps someone will confirm or identify the saw make?

The year, location and the operator is not known but assume in Perthshire somewhere. Can anyone help?

Possibly in Allean Forest.

Jonsereds 621 is probably right. These and some of the old Partner saws had the sparking plug cover sticking out of the top cover. If you held the saw at the wrong angle on a wet day while it was running, you got a good belt as the current earthed through your wrist instead of through the plug.

This was in 1972 at Faskally woods. I was there when the photo was taken. The chain saw operator was Alec Wyllie who lived at the Kennels, Faskally near to the Garry Bridge.
