Recovery of broken loader from pulp boat c.1990
Photograph courtesy of Colin Smith, Ord Brae, Huntly
Large long reach loader mounted on deck of the export pulp boat had broken away from its mountings and pitched forward in towards the hold. One large local crane is lifting the body and the other is having cables attached to the crane arm by some brave individual sitting on the arm. The second photograph in the PDF shows the crane arm with load of pulp still firmly grasped safely brought to quayside and the body now being lifted clear of the boat.
