Report No 60 describes two small powered disc cutting machines mounted on light wheels and moved by hand power. They seem to have done an surprisingly good job in very difficult conditions but probably more work that was actually needed in between the rows of planted trees. Unsurprisingly the machine required quite a bit of effort to move on into the vegetation and caused a great deal of operator fatigue.
