Two files containing about 65 Head Quarters Mechanical Development Committee Reports from 1950 to 1958 were saved from destruction by Jim Christie former Forestry Commission HQ, Plant Engineer. Jim, from Crook of Devon, has kindly made the reports available for scanning and entry onto this website. Please open the PDF to see this full report.

Report No 31 is an update on the ropeway system used in Report No 13. This new carriage and haul in hope configuration is a neat solution to using hand winches to raise and lock the load onto the double carriage. They had the means of holding the carriage in place but do not seem to have used this winch rope system to haul in cut tees from the side to the rackway. Possibly done by manual labour instead.
