Two files containing about 65 Head Quarters Mechanical Development Committee Reports from 1950 to 1958 were saved from destruction by Jim Christie former Forestry Commission HQ, Plant Engineer. Report No 10 examines the potential of using a knapsack sprayer that would pressurise itself from a chemical charge – in this case CO2 because the alternative slow acting cordite was considered a bit risky!
After some work, the concept was described as failing to meet forest requirements.
