George notes in his diary that he visited Clashindarroch to view the aerial spreading operation but the helicopter was ‘down’ - assume he meant ‘broken down’. This is obviously the Forestry team from the Huntly area and they are enjoying the fine day and respite from the noise and dust.

The men from the Bin Forest area are Roy Neish next to the tail spar, Ted Skeard in the yellow jersey, possibly Johnny White behind. It is likely to be Davie Anderson Chief Forester Clashindarroch (with tie) speaking to them all.

Can someone name the helicopter firm?

It was definitely a BEAS Helicopter and I believe was blown over one night in very high winds in this area. Blade tie down snapped. Comment left on 02 October 2023 at 12:53 by Jock Simpson
