Using a very favourable wind a team are carrying out controlled burning from a plough fire trace around a young forest in the Glen Brittle area. It was often advantageous to the Forestry Commission and the crofters if they pooled their efforts to carry out controlled burning exercises around or near vulnerable forests. The forests had better protection and the crofters managed to get some areas burnt for an early bite that would have been difficult and risky otherwise. Of course there were and are many arguments about the value or harm of the burning operations.

The PDF shows a another view of the burning area.
