Jocky Towns felling in Glen Brittle Skye

Jocky Towns felling in Glen Brittle Skye

Date Added: 25 February 2013 Contributor: Norman Davidson Year of Photo: 1980 Picture No: 1609

The photograph is courtesy of the family of George Dey. George took many forestry photographs in his forestry career and many are now shown on this web site. Check under ‘Groups’ and George Dey Collection.

George has noted the feller’s name as Jocky Towns working in Glen Brittle Forest, Skye. No other information but Jocky looks as though he felling a rack for a cable crane and thinning in between rack ways. The saw may be a Jonsered? See the PDF for more images.

Does anyone remember Jocky Towns?
