Ploughing tractors bogged at Lochans near Lairg 7

By keeping the water away and rigging up a temp fuel tank on front of the cab window and a long hose to the engine air intake the Sandy and Angus have been able to start the drowned tractor, a major plus when debogging. Sludge pump, air filters, jerry cans for clean fuel, drain drags, pumps lying about. The pulling has started with Angus Ross in the drowned tractor and Sandy Allison leading operations from the controls of the first pulling tractor.

Fond memories of this "Event" All in a days work back then can remember digging the peat out of the cab to get a seat and think this was day three as we decided that we would need to get tractor running as day one and two we tried pulling it dead weight but it would not come above surface, once we got engine going and tracks turning things went better.It took four or five days to complete, The D4D tractor was in the workshop for about a week to get cleaned up and all the oils flushed out new glass fitted and wiring terminals replaced as they had fallen off with the acid in the peat.
