British Timber Houses — Glenisla Forest

Date Added: 08 November 2012 Contributor: Norman Davidson Year of Photo: 1952 Picture No: 1293

The photograph is courtesy of the family of George Dey. George took many forestry photographs in his forestry career and some are now shown on this web site.

The forestry houses are just being finished off and also some are occupied as smoke is coming from the chimney and some washing is hanging out.

Any information on the BT Houses and also on the people who occupied them would be very welcome. Are they still there?

I grew up and still live in Glenisla. These houses are still here but there is only one house occupied by a forestry worker he drives his father's harvester. The houses became council houses and were then sold off. They are holiday houses now. Comment left on 17 December 2012 at 19:34 by Charles Godfrey.
