James Jones and Sons Skyline Newsletter No2
Colin Smith of Ord Brae, Huntly has kindly supplied a copy of this Skyline Newsletter No2 which he received in 1977 following his request for information on James Jones machinery and equipment.
The Skyline Newsletter No2 in the attached PDF shows some dramatic pictures of James Jones manufactured equipment being used in various parts of the world from South Africa to Cyprus as well as all around the UK. Some pictures show well known forestry people of the time.
One of the pictures in the Newsletter has been selected for the Large Image and shows a Forestry Commission group from North Scotland then Conservancy visiting the James Jones pole Depot at Leven. The image is not that clear but named people are:
Sandy Hogg (Area Manager -James Jones)
Robert MacArthur (James Jones)
Robert Innes (FC Conservator North Scotland)
Other people possibly:
Between Robert MacArthur and Robert Innes – Arkle Fraser (FC Chief Forester)
In front with hands clasped Tom MacBeth (FC North Conservancy Finance Officer)
Extreme right Graham Hamilton (FC District Officer Fort William)
