The Fiat-Allis tractor is being prepared for work on the Teindland T111 experimental site and is mounted with what appears to be a S45/t60 left hand thrown ploughing head. This was used in Treatment (v) SC as a last resort for the experiment where the plough furrow was returned to the position where it came from but upside down. The returning mechanisms did not work and the effect had to be created by hand when men had to return the soil back into the channel by hand as can be seen in the PDF.
Can anyone name the man helping Fred Legge (Research ganger) replace the soil from the furrow back into the drain. Note they are using the three pronged drain drag or ‘howk’ to pull the soil and turf back. Name of Fiat Allis tractor driver?
