Seed collections of Native Pine in Scotland
Mike Phillips, a former research head forester at Newton, published several papers during his career and in retirement.
This report covers the results of a decision to collect from a range of the remnants of native Scots pine in various parts of Scotland. The aim was to grow trees from the collected seed and set up seedling seed plantations for each of the distinct Scots pine seed zones in Scotland.
The details of the report which was also published in Scottish Forestry in 1989 can be seen in the attached PDF.
