Sports day at Glentress Forester School 1948
Photographs and images courtesy of Joan Park who has submitted some of her father, Hamish Park’s photographs from his days at Glentress Forester Training School in 1946-48.
The image shows events and organisation of the Glentress School sports day thought to be in summer 1948 when the 1946 and 1947 intake students numbering about 60 would be participating (or at least some of them).

‘Shot putt - Ian Richards’
Can anyone name the onlookers? Note the collection of Nissan huts and wooden huts in the back ground.

Writing about the huts to right of man throwing shot putt. Both Nissen Hut's are on side of forest road, next up is as I remember were the forest offices, the small square building to rear of couple was outside gents toilet no roof, to side of that was 2 further Nissan huts one nearest I think had large round stove in it and used for making fire brooms and also a wet weather shed? Other one was for tools etc. The large garage was in square and it housed various lorries and vans.
