Newton Nursery 1936
Images courtesy of Alan Duncan, Nursery Manager, Newton Nursery from a small collection of around 20 6x4 inch glass negatives that are stored at the nursery office and date from 1936. The land for the nursery was purchased by the forestry Commission in 1931 and the nursery formed very shortly after.
A view from the north boundary of the east section of the nursery looking over seed beds and up towards the A96. Many of the sand covered seed beds are shaded with rolls of laths resting on post and wire supports.
