Newton Nursery 1936
Images courtesy of Alan Duncan, Nursery Manager, Newton Nursery from a small collection of around 20 6x4 inch glass negatives that are stored at the nursery office and date from 1936. The land for the nursery was purchased by the forestry Commission in 1931 and the nursery formed very shortly after.
A view from the west side of the nursery up what was thought to be larch seed beds but more likely transplants lined out with the short board across the beds between the alley ways.
The view is up to and across the A96 road to the York Tower on top of the little hill.
