Pitwood Price list published annually by James Kennedy and Co for the delivered-in prices of all the pit wood products for the National Coal Board (Scottish Division).

It seems about this time the Coal Board purchased all its British timber through one or two major buyers located in strategic parts of the UK. It is not known whether James Kennedy was such a buyer but shortly after this year the mining timber buying process was devolved down to many of the individual timber companies through out the UK.

Oh the memories !

I did a stint with James Kennedy felling on the banks of Loch Lomond about 1963.
In those Days Pulp Wood was transported to Boweters at Elesmere Port Cheshire.

Not a big Company but a long established one, I remember being impressed by their central Glasgow Office address.
