It is interesting to see the variety of tools that the students have used as props for the photographic event that a ‘Scotman’ reporter was recording as part of the story at that time ‘Britain’s Future Pulp Producers’.
Note the variety of axes, Scotch and English in 6 or 7lb versions as well as 4lb. There are no obvious 1.5lb ‘slim line’ axes at this time. The ‘modern’ saw held by Peter Macdonald looks a Jobu with rotating tank? The guards of some of the bow saws are an ingenious system of recycling old bicycle tyres.
