Meeting at Northern Research Station, Roslin, Edinburgh in Feb 1971 of all the Forest Officer staff of the Silviculure North section many of whom were based at various sub locations through out Scotland such as Lairg and Newton.

The large number of staff employed in silvicultural research at that time is an indication of the vast effort the Forestry Commission was investing in seeking out suitable provenances of tree species, in improving crop tree quality and advancing and improving establishment methods and techniques.
