Traction engine hauling wood with local forest workers, c1920. The man on the far left is the father of Mary Bruce originally from Carr-bridge, who married Peter Bruce in 1943. He was one of the wartime forestry workers from Newfoundland. Timber working in Strathspey and Badenoch was a mainstay of the locality right up to the Second World War.
