Lodgepole pine, Newton Nursery
Photographs courtesy of Abbie Gordon, Banchory.
Lodgepole pine trees (1.5+0.5) growing in transplant lines in Newton Nursery. These trees were 18 months in seedling beds and have been growing for a further 6 months in their lining out beds and could be ready for planting out on the open hill at the end of the autumn when this photograph was taken.

The reason for lodgepole pine growing rapidly and contorted in shape at Panmure estate was always a mystery to me. Any ideas out there.
