Coastal erosion control work at Culbin Forest 1974
Photographs courtesy of Abbie Gordon, Banchory.
Groynes catching sand on the shoreline of Cubin Forest. The sand has built up to the top of the wooden groynes and helping to control further erosion into the very vulnerable foreshore dunes. Note the pines, most likely Scots pine, which have been blasted brown by the wind blown sea spray and sand.
