Loading heavy timber with mobile crane circa1955

Loading large logs with lorry crane onto F & F Transport, Blairgowrie. Location and people are not known.
Can anyone identify the haulage company and lorry types? The crane lorry looks an interesting construction and wonder if the crane was mechanically or hydraulically driven?
Note the timber dogs or other name? fixed into the log to lift it at roughly the point of balance. The lorry appears to be very heavily loaded and the addition of the hanging log would certainly take the overall load weight well up.

Lorry on left is an Albion Reiver, and looks pretty new. Crane is probably an AEC, possibly a Matador, although they were more often only two axle trucks.

It is a Militant 6x4 probably. The timber winch/crane setup is just a jib arm supported by the cables seen in picture, winch is other wire in centre. Winch is driven through an auxillary gearbox from the engine. Matadors and Militants were regulary used as timber cranes in this way simple but effective.

the lorry is an aec matador model 0854 6x6 the six wheel version of the 0853 4x4 matador it is fitted with a ex us army garwood winch

The man on the ground underneath the suspended log held by lifting tongs which were notoriously unreliable seems to like living on the edge.

The lorry is an Albion Reiver operated by Allison's of Dundee. The F&F name on the cab was a company they bought out around 1963.
