The Gunn Lifter could be used either;

1.To loosen the transplants for easy hand lifting or

2. To undercut transplant roots by adjusting the angle and depth of the large underground cross blade.

Normally for lifting the plants tines were bolted to the back edge of the blade then removed for under cutting. Comment left on 20 August 2016 at 10:03 by Leslie Phillip
The tractor is the American made Ford Ferguson which came before the Ferguson 20's.The distinctive rear wheels would only fit the large diameter Ford hub Comment left on 20 August 2016 at 18:28 by Alasdair Cameron
