Cross draining in Rannoch Forest

Dun says ‘Not sure of location, probably Barracks but could be south of Black Wood, showing 2 Tractors in tandem pulling a Cuthbertson deep draining plough, used to cross furrows and drain lying water - a job previously done manually using rutter and drag’.
The tractors look like Track Marshalls with wide track plates for soft ground work and cross draining and I see that the registration of the lead tractor is SMV507F (See previous picture 753). Can any one confirm or provide more information?

Nice to see done a lot of forestry work. I know where there is some forestry photos of ploughs an diggers all over scotland. Keep saying we will get them and put them on, make it a new year resolution.

I wonder if the machine on the left was one with the aluminium tracks. I remember in the late 60s some tractors, certainly in Rannoch, were fitted with aluminium tracks to reduce weight, may have helped in the soft peat but wouldn't have lasted long on the hard road as you could see the aly smeared over the stone. I remember some spectacular boggings on Rannoch moor, grab the piece bag and bale out was the order of the day when the tracks broke the surface on some of the hobblebogs.
