Glentress Forestry School, 1946-48 class and other
Photograph is part of Bill Stoddart’s collection of images taken when he was a lecturer at several Forester Training Schools. The photographs were handed in by his daughter Lilian Allan at the Forestry Memories drop in day at Huntly on 11 June 2010.
The group are shown in a quarry where they may have been getting instruction in geology or in the processes of winning material for road making.
There is a similarity with some people in the 1949 photograph Number 34 (697) but any help to identify the people standing with Bill Stoddart (No16) would be very welcome.
No 22 has been named as John W Middleton (poss 1947/49) by his daughter Diane Icke. Note that another John Middleton attended the Forestry School in later years. See more names in comments below.

This confirms that many of the students were from the 1946-48 class and may have been joined by exchange students or students from the following year 1947-49 class.
