Alex Macleman at Inchbae Forest, Garve circa 1940
Photograph courtesy of Don MacLeman shows his father Alex MacLeman (holding pipe) with a forestry team.
The year is thought to be about 1940 (or late 1930s) at Inchbae Forest near Garve where Alex was forester prior to being transferred to South Strome Forest circa 1946.
The names of the forestry team are not known or what work they were carrying out as no tools are shown. Obviously it was a fine warm day with no midges hence the fine display of manly chests!
There are some very young team members who might still be about to recall the location and year. In the next photograph some members of the same team are again featured.
Any information would be warmly welcomed.
