Tom Robbie Assistant Conservator at Donnie MacCaskill’s retirement
The images were provided with the help of Janet Quarton, Lochgilphead, and recorded some of the personalities at Head Forester Donnie MacCaskill’s retirement event in the Cairnbaan Hotel in 1969. This image fits in with those on this website from Picture No 4626 to 4630.
A very relaxed looking Tom Robbie is obviously enjoying the retirement event and the company of people out of shot. Tom served as Forester Training Schools principal at both Glentress and Faskally between the years of 1947 – 1955, followed by various locations in the Scotland and England as District Officer covering forest areas and then as Assistant Conservator in the West Scotland Conservancy.
