Cairnbaan Camp original and enhanced image – camp circa 1965
The image is courtesy of Janet Quarton who worked at the camp during this period.
Janet found the original very faded image and then carefully used Ai technology to enhance the image digitally. She noted that the enhanced image is an interpretation of the original and may not be factually correct in every small detail.
The image map have been taken around 1965 a little prior to the images shown in Picture No 4622 on this website of the helicopter landed on the playing field. The electric or telephone poles and lines around the playing field may been moved at some point previously and the helicopter was able to land but Janet believes they were not moved.
Any memories of when this image was taken would be very welcome. See large image link below. Details about when the sawmill operated from, when it closed and who worked there would also be very welcome.
