Twin flower in Roseisle Forest
The images are from photographic slides courtesy of Abbie Gordon, Banchory. This low growing ground covering plant with its distinctive twin flowers carried singly on paired stems usually comes into flower towards end of June and early July.
Not a common plant and tends to be found in long established or heritage Scots pine woods where the partial shade limits competition from other higher growing vegetation.
