MV Antares unloading peeled round logs at Aberdeen Harbour -Jun 1999
The images are from photographic slides courtesy of Abbie Gordon, Banchory who at the time was a Forestry Commission staff member of Grampian Conservancy and regularly checked timber importing docks for any timber with bark on and for other signs of harmful insects.
Archie Ferguson of Speanbridge’s independent loaders are busy taking the timber from the ship onto the dockside and , out of shot , a timber lorry is loading for delivery to a sawmill.
