Early broadleaved tree planting and farm diversification near Fisherie area
The images are from photographic slides courtesy of Abbie Gordon, Banchory and taken on a Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group (FWAG) visit to Alan Twatt’s farm in the Fisherie area. The five year old oak tree featured is well above its tube shelter.
During the 1990s the group was very active in the Grampian area and was headed by Alison Espie and also Nicky Penfold if memory of the names is correct. The group advisors working with Forestry Commission staff had some notable project successes and established quite a large number of farm projects across the region.
