Bogged Poclain Excavators at Dunbeath

Bogged Poclain diggers at Dunbeath. A contractor had decided to shift one of his machines to another site overland and it became stuck in a bog. Machine No 2 was sent to recover it but ended up in the same predicament as did the third machine sent afterwards. The Forestry Commission became involved in the debogging operation using some of their machines, equipment and expertise!
Willie recalls that as it was close to the public road and the main debogging operation got underway at the weekend a great number of the public came along to observe operations. Many of them stood or persisted in standing in what they thought good vantage points but in fact were within the bight of the ropes between debogging tractors and bogged diggers!
