Benmore Forestry Students relaxing on riverside in 1949
Images are courtesy of Colin Lawson son of Wilfred Lawson who was a forester who trained at Benmore Forester Training School 1948-1950 following a year plus at Glenbranter Forest as a trainee worker based in the camp.
The location is not identified but could be up Glen Masson or up towards Lock Eck – any suggestions and identification of the site would be welcome. Note the bridge over the river in this photograph. Some of the students have been named and could be a mix of first and second year students.
The student on the left (obscured) with white shorts in Wilfred Lawson
Middle is Alexander (Sandy) Nicol
On the pipes is McLean McLeod (or Maclean Macleod)
