FC Byelaws and Public Rights of Way – Inshriach Forest
The image was kindly provided by Brian Duff, Glenmore Forest and is of a minute written to Frank Scott, Head Forester at Inshriach Forest by Andrew Bearhop who was North Scotland Conservancy Land Agent based in Inverness.
The minute is in response to a query by Frank Scott on the role of Forestry Commission byelaws as opposed to public rights of way in the forest. Andrew provides a very full answer and also details the claimed rights of way routes within the forest.
At this time the Rights of Way Society were very active in trying to establish numerous routes as rights of way through out Scotland. This did cause some concern to various land owners and companies particularly as the type or class of rights of way being claimed.
Andrew mentions two names as a source of further guidance and these are David Woodburn, District officer and Jim Jardine, Area Land agent for areas covering Inshriach Forest
