A View across Affric Forest – 1977
The photograph was taken by the late Finlay MacRae who was a District Officer in the Forestry Commission based in Dingwall at this time. The images are courtesy of his daughter Donna.
The location and direction of the view (possibly eastwards) are not noted but the power line and what may be a forest road on the far hillside may point to a location in the forest. The figure standing in among some birch and pine (possibly natural regeneration) is Hugh Morris, Chief Forester in Affric Forest.
The PDF shows the same but less expansive view of the hillside rising to the horizon with extensive Scots pine and birch tree cover but taken in 1990.
