PLM helicopter at Loch Mullardoch for STV Film with Tom Weir

The PLM helicopter is sited on the edge of Loch Mullardoch looking out over a very wintery scene of cold grey water and snow covered mountains – the Mini car possibly belonging to film crew. The bright orange fabric tied to a weighted canister may be an improvised wind sock to guide the pilot.
There is an internet mention of a film episode from 1979 “Tom (Weir) visits Glen Affric in the central Highlands of Scotland to discover how such an expanse of remote land is managed. Finlay MacRae, the district's conservation officer, takes Tom deep into Glen Affric. Tom is given a tour of the western enclave of Glen Affric, which stretches as far as Kintail in the west. Former deer-stalkers describe the changes in game keeping. Tom learns more about how changes in modern society have altered Glen Affric.”
