Transplant beds in Colony Nursery after very wet summer
The photograph was taken by the late Finlay MacRae who was a District Officer in the Forestry Commission based in Dingwall at the time. The images are courtesy of his daughter Donna.
Taken in 1976 this image shows a forest nursery with the name Colony transcribed on the slide. Can anyone identify the nursery and its location?
Now located with assistance from Alasdair Cameron as being south of Jemimaville in the Black Isle at NH716628 and one of 5-6 nurseries sites in the Black Isle in times past.
The PDF link below shows another view of the transplant lines with a note that the trees on the left were hand lined out.

From working at Blackstand in the spring of 1975, I seem to remember "The Colony" being out near the Millbuie Crofts, to the northwest of the Blackstand nursery, but I may be wrong!
