Ardross Forest view - Top of Strettenham to the Soutors (Stittenham)
The photograph was taken by the late Finlay MacRae who was a District Officer in the Forestry Commission based in Dingwall at the time. The images are courtesy of his daughter Donna.
View from a clearfelled harvesting site where the timber has been processed and stacked in small heaps at roadside by forestry workers following skidder extraction of the whole trees.
The view is southwards over to the Black Isle and village of Cromarty with the outline of the former Invergordon Aluminium smelter on the Ardross side that closed down in 1981.
