Horse at Lael Forest waiting to pull out next drag load of timber
The photograph was taken by the late Finlay MacRae who was a District Officer in the Forestry Commission based in Dingwall at the time. The images are courtesy of his daughter Donna.
The Clydesdale type horse is dressed in simple harness of bridle, collar, hems, back band and chains leading to a metal swingletree. There is no sign of long reins and it may have been guided by walking with short rein in front or by voice only from the rear.
Can anyone suggest who could be the horseman at this time in 1976?
