Slasher Magazine Summary: Publication No. 214 - October 1965
The digitisation of the Slasher was undertaken by, and images courtesy of, the Forest Research Knowledge and Information Management staff based at both the Northern Research Station in Roslin, Scotland and Alice Holt in Surrey, where the original copies are currently located.

Alderman E. Gwynfryn Davies (Trade Unions), appointed as Part-Time Commissioner.
Mr F. Sellers (Timber Trade), appointed as Part-Time Commissioner.
Major Sir William Strang Steel (Private Forestry), appointed as Part-Time Commissioner.
Mr Tom Taylor (Commerce), appointed as Part-Time Commissioner.
Earl of Carlisle (Special Interest in Private Forestry & Countryside), appointed as Part-Time Commissioner.
Mr J.R. Thom, appointed as Director of Research.
Mr G. Forrest (Scotland), appointed as Senior Officer.

Retirements
Mr George B. Ryle, Deputy Director General has retired after 41 years' service with the Commission.
Mr J.A.B. MacDonald, Conservator, South Scotland has retired after joining the Commission in 1922.
Mr George J.L. Batters, Conservator, North East England has retired after joining the Commission in 1927. as a forest worker at Allerston.
Mr R.R. Donald MBE, Assistant Conservator, South Scotland has retired. He entered the Beaufort Forest School in 1921.
Mr T.E. Little, Forester, Llambed has retired after spending the past 14 years at Llambed. He has given 41 years' service in the Dean and North Wales.

Mr T.E. Little retirement tributes and presentation. Of those present was Mr L.T. Edwards now Head Forester at Brechfa, who recalled meeting Tom Little in the Dean on the day he started work. Other reminiscences included that concerning a senior Forest Officer who, en route to meet the local District Officer and Forester, saw a group of men sheltering from the rain under a tree. In those days, "wet time" was frowned upon and the men received a sharp "dressing down". Protestations were rejected out of hand and the incident terminated with the men being sacked on the spot. Early next morning a worried Council road foreman called at the Forester's office - none of his gang had turned up for work….!
