The map was recovered from shed at Newton Nursery which acted as a storage area for Forest Research who used the maps to locate forest and tree experiments in the field.
This area may have been purchased by the Forestry Commission along with others along the south side of Loch Eil from Conaglen Estate circa 1962 for planting. The Achaphubuil area was subsequently claimed as crofter common grazing. There were some considerable legal discussions in the 1960s on its status but it was not planted and believed to have been sold by the Forestry Commission in 1993 back to Conaglen Estate.

Perhaps someone will confirm the details.
