Glentress Forestry students on fence construction

The photographs, located only lately in a small album, have very little detail other than location.
The student holding the mell and driving in the post is Alex Grossert (Glentress 1948-1950). The student holding the post with the post tongs has not been identified. However the student observing has a likeness to Donnie Laird.
The post is obviously a small log quartered on the saw bench and not the best looking item. The wires look to be a heavy gauge and possibly size 6 or heavier.
Any further details and confirmation of names would be very welcome.
